Pattern and Texture: Black and White
The picture I have chosen for which one I think is my best photo would be the shot of the two leaves. My point of view for this photo was slightly at a higher angle to capture the whole leaf lying vertical. What I like about this picture is that it is horizontal so you get the crack in the cement, and also a little bit of the texture of that cement. I feel like this photo does follow the rule of thirds. When creating the lines on the pictures cut in third horizontally, you can easily tell that the second leaf is in that middle third. The top of the leaf and also the bottom of the second leaf gives an illusion that the lines are there. This is a great example in my opinion of pattern, texture and rhythm. When look at the picture there is pattern in the raindrops all over the leaves. Then I feel like there is texture in all of the pictures, the texture of the cement makes it look very jagged and also the position of the leaves shows you that the leaves are crispy. The picture that I feel may be overexposed would be the picture of the chain, because that piece of white plastic is so white compared to the rest of the picture. The picture that might be a little too underexposed would be the picture of the fence, the whole image seems to be a little bright because there aren't really any natural brighter spots that jump out at you, except the top of the windows in the background. The image that shows a properly exposed photo would be the leaves. Throughout the image, there are lighter spots on the leaves and also in the water droplets. Then there are darker spots in the background and also in the shadows of the water.
