Photo #1
This is one of my favorite photos because of the compositional elements and principles present. In this particular picture, the rule of thirds, as well as the angle or point of view are interesting. When looking at the angle of the leaves, the one one top leads your eyes to show lines flowing horizontally. Then, the second leaf lead your eyes to go vertically. This photo was taken outside on a rather gloomy and rainy day. But even though the sun wasn't present when taking this photo, there was still natural light, which illuminated every angle. By changing this photo to black and white as well as using Photoshop to do further editing, this photo appears to be a lot darker. With the slight shadows behind the leaves and the sharpness in the raindrops, it can show that the weather of the day was very gloomy, or mysterious.

When viewing this photo, there were many compositional elements and principles that were noticed. There were many things displayed in this picture like: texture, pattern, repetition that were presented in the wood, as well as changing it to black and white, which helped to show the shadows. When taking this photo, I was very close to the piece of wood so I was able to catch most of the object in focus. With a shorter depth of field, any viewer can be drawn towards the center where it is the clearest opposed to the background and foreground. The point of view of this photo enhanced the details of the wood, instead of positioning the camera further away so you would not be able to see those details.

Composition
* Line, Shape, Pattern, Repetition Technical Aspects * Large depth of field * Black and white color * Studio lighting very direct in the background Artistic Qualities * With the light being so direct in the background, it created some harsh shadows in the cracks of the glass which was interesting to see. |

Composition
* Texture, Line, Positive/Negative Space, Shape, Repetition Technical Aspects * Contrast * Even lighting * Shallow depth of field * Fast shutter speed Artistic Qualities * If you look closely at this picture, you will notice the details on Maddy's shoes. After figuring out they are cats, this can be quite humorous. |

I would say this photo is very strong with its compositional elements and principles. The point of view of the picture is captured at a very up close position. With splitting my face in half, any viewer is able to see the details of my face/hair as well as some of the background. When taking this photo, it was very hard to deal with the lighting because of the natural lighting. Because of this, you can see Tai's arm's shadow over my face due to the fact that the sun is positioned behind him. I feel like if anyone saw this picture, they would find it interesting because of the detail in my face/hair. When looking close, you are able to see the sharpness of my hair, as well as the reflection in my sunglasses who of who was taking the photo.
